Celtic Nations Cup – May dates changed
An email has been sent out from the SFA today informing fans that the dates for the Nations cup in May have been changed. They claim this is due to the Barclays Premier League finishing on the 22nd of may. Story's have also been circulating that it has more to do with Sky TV rights.
The Scotland dates have been changed as follows:-
- Scotland V Wales moved from Tuesday 24th May to Wednesday 25th May
- Republic of Ireland V Scotland moved from Friday 27th May to Sunday 29th May
This has obviously inconvenienced many fans.

The Football Association of Ireland today (December 17) announced that it has secured a television deal with Sky Sports to show all six Carling Nations Cup matches.
In addition they have also altered the match dates for the games to be played in May.
These changes were made in order to allow greater recovery time for the players participating in the Barclays Premier League , as their season finishes on Sunday the 22nd of May.
The revised dates are as follows :
- Republic of Ireland v Northern Ireland - Tue,May 24 2011
- Scotland v Wales - Wed , May 25 2011
- Wales v Northern Ireland - Fri, May 27 2011
- Republic of Ireland v Scotland(6.30 KO) - Sun , May 29 2011
All the above matches will be 7.45pm kick offs unless otherwise highlighted.
