Tartan Specials to play at Hampden during half time

The Tartan Specials have announced they're to play at Hampden Park Stadium for the first time.

The band will be providing the half time entertainment during the Scotland V Macedonia and Scotland V Holland World Cup 2010 qualifiers on Saturday 5th and Wednesday 9th September.

This marks a real step forward for the band - there's not many small abnds who can say they've played in front of 52,000 fans!

There's stories circulating that ticket sales for the football match have increased due to the Tartan Specials gig during half time.

Tartan Specials to play in Oslo

The Tartan Specials will be playing a special acoustic set in Oslo next month before the Norway V Scotland football match.  For the first time they're set to play in an inflatable marquee in the Youngstorget part of Oslo on Tuesday 11th August.

Tartan Army DJ Tam Coyle will also be dj'ing through the night.

Tartan Army Childrens Charity Dinner Dance at Hampden Park

Friday 28th August - 6:30 till 01:00

Dress code: smart/casual/kilt

A great night of entertainment, plus your chance to help TACC raise money for children orphaned by HIV/Aids in a vast settlement near Johannesburgh, South Africa, to be donated during the 2010 World Cup Finals.

The evening will consist of:

  • Dinner (3 course with wine)
  • Q&A with George Burley and Gordon Smith
  • Raffle draw
  • Guest speaker - Willie Allan (legend)
  • Charity Auction (including unique prizes from the Scottish FA

Tickets are £45 each, including wine with the meal, and can be bought seperately or as a group of any size.  We have also organised a bus from/to Edinburgh

Live music is now confirmed as the Scottish Blues Brothers, a 10-piece band.

Scotland B International V Northern Ireland Confirmed

The SFA today confirmed a Tennents "B" International challenge match against Northern Ireland.

The match will take place on Wednesday 6th May 2009 - kick off time to be confirmed.

The venue is Broadwood Stadium, Cumbernauld.

Registration from 10am to 10pm in car park at Cairngorm hotel, the Tartan Army open golf championship at the spey valley championship course, entertainment on the cairngorm stage all afternoon and late into the evening...... from 6pm the "Get Steamin" event on the Strathspey Steam Railway ( with a ceilidh on the platfrom at Glenbogle )

SATURDAY 28TH... 1030AM The tartan army kilted 5-a-side football tournament... including kids.ladies comp !! evening concert TO BE CONFIRMED !!! the afternoon event is an open darts competition with cash prizes ! entertainment all day/evening on the Cairngorm Stage !!

SUNDAY 29TH... 12noon the traditional march down the main street to the Tartan Army Highland Games !! which will be on until 5pm (includes beer tent) evening entertainment on the main stage in the Cairngorm car-park !! 8PM The Final of Euro 2008 on the big screen on the main stage !!
