Suspended Referee to Ref Netherlands V Scotland

Acording to todays Evening Express, the referee that's supposed to be reffing the Netherlands V Scotland game in Amsterdam on the 28h March has been suspended. 

Laurent Duhamel was suspended by French officials after making a large number of well known mistakes involving Paris St Germain and Nice.

Unfortunatly there's no route for the SFA to complain to FIFA regarding this.   We'll have to wait and see if Fifa decide to take action.

A very important news report for anybody interested in the No Team GB debate.  In essence FIFA have said that should a GB football team in the olympics, it will put an end to Scotland, Enlgand, Wales and Northern Ireland having seperate football associations.

Mailsport understands FIFA president Sepp Blatter last night told the SFA their independent place within the game will be jeopardised by co-operating with Team GB.

Peat said: "Mr Blatter told us at an informal function held by the Irish government if we agreed to be part of Team GB our position would be in jeopardy.

Netherlands Ticket Ballot – Now Complete

The ballot for the remaining 1,000 tickets for the Netherlands V Scotland match was drawn earlier today (Wednesday 25th Feb). 

Any member of the Scotland Supporters Club (SSC) who hadn't attended any of the previous 10 away matches was offfered the chance to obtain a match ticket via the ballot.  6,257 Members registered for the ballot meaning a one in six chance of obtaining a ticket.

All sucessfully members should have received an email today congratulating them and also giving them their seat allocation.  Unsuccessfull members will receive an email in the next 24 hours. 

Recent press reports are that up to 20,000 Tartan Army Footsoldiers could be making the trip to Amsterdam for the game on 28th March in the Amsterdam Arena.

More than a third of SSC members take up Season Ticket offer

The SFA has revealed that a third of Scotland Supporters Club members have taken up the season ticket offer covering the remaining home 2010 World cup Qualifier games. 11,540 SSC members out of 32,500 took up the offer which closed on Friday 20th February.

The SFA offer included the Netherlands, Iceland and Macedonia home games.

Alison Jack, the SSC’s customer service managers said:

“Everyone here is absolutely blown away by the success of the multi match packages. We introduced them on the back of the largest ever survey of Scotland fans that we have ever conducted. The fans asked and we acted. The success is there for all to see.

“The fact that supporters have bought them in such huge numbers shows the passion that they have for following Scotland and also the faith that they have in George and the boys.

“Getting to the World Cup will be a huge team effort. Clearly the supporters want to play their part.”

Rob Shorthouse, the SFA communications manager commented:-

“The introduction of multi match tickets was the latest in a line of improvements to the way in which we deal with ticketing and communicate with supporters. The supporter survey, the new system of balloting and greater use of online ticket sales have worked well and clearly this latest move has also been a hit.

“We will soon be launching a new website that will make it even easier for us to speak directly to supporters and take on board their views. We are reacting to supporter demand like never before and we will continue to look for new ways to do our best for the people who show such incredible loyalty to their country.”

1000 TICKETS REMAINING FOR BALLOT

Scotland Supporters Club members on 1 - 10 points had between 19th January - 13th February to claim their guaranteed ticket for our match against the Dutch.

Now that this sales period is over, we are delighted to confirm that we have 1000 Tickets remaining out of our overall allocation of 8000, available to current club members either on "zero" points or those who didn't buy a ticket in the previous sales window.  (Please note that there is now no guarantee of a ticket)

The registration period will open on WEDNESDAY 18 FEBRUARY from 09:00am - SUNDAY 22 FEBRUARY at 11:59pm
The ballot will then be drawn on WEDNESDAY 25 FEBRUARY
